A CALL to all ALUMNI to be a PART OF

UP High, Prep, Elem and Integrated School Centennila Book

Greetings!

As contribution to the UP Centennial celebration, the U.P. Integrated School is now working on its own Coffee Table Book with the theme UPHPEIS@82: Alay ng UPIS sa Sentenaryo. We plan to include the following in this book: (1) History of the UPIS with UP High, UP Prep and UP Elem as "roots"; (2) some UPIS innovations, like the UPIS curriculum, the UPIS language policy; the four-pronged approach of K-2, etc; (3) impressions/reminiscences/other write-ups from alumni, teachers and parents; (4) literary articles on UPIS by students; and (5) photos that "speak for UPHPEIS through the years".

We wish to come out with this reader-friendly, creative book on or before October 2008. It will come in full color, book paper 60 lbs, 8 1/2" by 11" size, perfect binding and around 1,000 copies.

For this purpose, we call on YOUR BATCH to support this project. Do SPONSOR one full-page at P10,000.00 - complete with your most cherished photos, reminiscences/impressions about UPIS, and/or other forms of write-up possibly in a creative lay-out of your choice. Below are some guidelines which can help you make such lay-out:

  1. If possible, photos must be colored (black and white photos circa '60's are most welcome too)

  2. The text can be in English or Filipino, written in a reader-friendly (not-so-formal) way

  3. The whole lay-out should not exceed 8 1/2 by 11 inches (coupon bond size)

As the basic education unit of the University, we believe that UPIS should have its own printed contribution to the University's Centennial. We will therefore be very grateful if you can help us publish this book and be a visible part of the University's history. Deadline for sponsorship is August 30, 2008, to be submitted to the UPIS Office of Research, Development and Publication (ORDP).

2008 Search for Outstanding Alumni

The University of the Philippines High, Prep, Elementary and Integrated School Foundation, Inc., with the University of the Philippines Integrated School Batch 1983 would like to recognize its outstanding alumni. Please nominate a former student who has achieved significant success in his/her profession, has made significant contributions to the community, or has met and overcome major obstacles and would serve as a role model to others. Nominees must be a living alumna/alumnus of UPHPEIS who was enrolled for at least one term and was not dishonorably discharged.

To submit nominations:

Complete the award nomination form (found at www.upis83.multiply.com) and attach the relevant documents to substantiate the nomination. Submit the form to UPHPEIS Foundation, Inc. c/o Ramon Gutierrez. Nominations should be received by August 15, 2008.

Awards will be presented during the General Alumni Homecoming on December 13, 2008.

"Ginto't Pilak Namumulaklak, Humahalakhak" -- the 2007 UPIS Grand Alumni Homecoming is happening on December 8, 2007, Saturday, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, UPIS, Diliman, QC. All alumni of UP High School, UP Prep, UP Elementary and UP Integrated School, are invited to reminisce, laugh, & party as Batch 82 honors the Golden Jubilarians of Batch 57. Fund Raising for Renovation of UPIS Multipurpose Hall

Dear Fellow Alumni,

Greetings!

The UP High, Prep, Elementary and Integrated School Foundation is raising funds for the much-needed and long-overdue renovation of the UPIS Multipurpose Hall. Initially, improvements will have to be done to its ventilation and lighting facilities.

In cooperation with the UPIS Parents-Teachers Association, we will be having a pre-Christmas Bingo Social on November 26, 2006, Sunday, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Ang Bahay ng Alumni, U.P. Campus, Diliman, Quezon City. Part of the proceeds from the event will also be set aside for other Foundation projects and operational expenses.

Each ticket worth P200.00 will entitle participants to play in 8 bingo games and also enter in the raffle. Tickets are available at the UPHPEIS Foundation office. For inquiries, please contact Ramon Gutierrez at 925-9102, 0917-3876541 or email at upisalumni@tri-isys.com.

We are requesting your support to help sell the tickets. We are also appealing for outright contributions/donations from the different alumni classes for the Multipurpose Hall renovation.
